ERNA POPOWICH Peacefully, Erna Popowich, passed away at St. Boniface General Hospital on March 16, 2000. Erna was born in St. James, Manitoba on July 5, 1915. Erna was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, William; her parents, many sisters and a brother. Left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Kristen Morrissey of San Francisco and Bonnie Skyhar; grandson Daryn Skyhar; sisters, Betty Duchon, Dena (Brownie) Allum and Geraldine (Lloyd) Perrott of Eugene, Oregon; brother Robert (Agnes) Krall and many nieces and nephews. Erna spent her childhood in Gilbert Plains and when the family moved back to Winnipeg, she spent her early adult life working at Palm Dairies. Upon the arrival of her children, she spent the rest of her life as a homemaker. She was an excellent cook, loved dancing and listening to music, reading and doing crosswords. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital for the care provided during her stays over the past 2 years, especially the staff of 5E for their kindness and special care during her last stay. As well, thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their friendship and care provided to Erna while she was a resident. Flowers are gratefully declined. At Ernas request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
