GAIL McKAY (ROSS) (nee WRIGHT) Mrs. Joan Gail McKay, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully in Calgary on March 17, 2000, at the age of 62 years, following a courageous battle with cancer. Gail was born in Winnipeg on September 18, 1937, where she resided all her life. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lawrence McKay of Deer Lodge Centre; her mother Blanche Wright of of Meadowood Manor; and her two daughters, Joan Blondabl (son-in-law Brian) of Calgary and Diana Amey (son-in-law Dave) of Sherbrooke, Que.; and her stepchildren, Carter McKay (Debbie), Derek McKay (Suzanne) and Rowena David (Rod) all of Winnipeg. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kate, Daniel, Aren, Leslie, Brenda and Michael and her brothers, Allan Wright (Eunice) and Robert Wright and special friends, Martha Liske and Marian Reimer. Funeral services will be held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Green Acres Lane, on Tuesday, March 21, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, R3C 2B7, or the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3C 4G2.
