Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAURA THERESA INGLIS (nee Derrington) It is with deep sadness our family announce the death of Laura on March 16, 2000 at Riverview Health Centre. Laura is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Florence and Alastair Lorimer; granddaughters, Alason Lorimer and Jennifer Lorimer Gerhardt and her husband Jim, and great-grandchildren, Daryl, Rachel and Rebecca. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Alexander in 1983; her parents, Rose Alba and Garfield Derrington; sisters, Grace Horwood and Florence Derrington and brothers, Thomas, George and Donovan Derrington. Born in Montreal in 1914 Laura moved to Winnipeg with her family and lived in East Kildonan attending St. Alphonsus School and St. Marys Academy. She married her childhood sweetheart Alex and they spent many happy years at their much loved #1 Neil Place enjoying the company of family, friends and neighbours. For the past 13 years Laura resided at 20 Fort Street where she acquired many new friends and acquaintances. In spite of her medical problems Laura enjoyed life to the fullest and faced each day bravely; even this past most difficult year. Funeral service will take place Wednesday March 22 in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy Street at 11:30 a.m. with Rose Ferries officiating. Thank you to the many physicians, nurses, health care providers and volunteers involved in Lauras care. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a donation in Lauras memory to Breast Cancer Research, Cancer Care, 100 Olivia Street Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9.
