Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTOD GOODING Peacefully, after a courageous battle, surrounded by loved ones, Tod James Gooding, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, on Friday, March 17, 2000, at the age of 56. Tod was predeceased by his father, and will be sadly missed by his daughter Tracey (James) grandson Jesse; son Shane and wife Loni. Also suffering his loss are his mother Violet; sisters, Jackie and Janice (Bill) niece Jill, as well as his brother Lloyd (Amy) and nieces, Ashley and Abby and nephew Jeff. He will also be sadly missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Although he was born in Gaspe, Quebec, on January 7, 1944, while his father was serving in the Canadian Navy, Tod lived his entire life in Winnipeg, Man. He was part of a longstanding C.N.R. family and worked from 1962 until 1993 when he took an early retirement due to illness. Tod always took much pleasure in his family and watching his son play hockey. Later in life he was filled with great joy in watching his grandson grow up. Tod was always the official Sunday Dinner Orchestrator with his policy being the more the merrier. Two of Tods favourite pastimes were challenging his luck in Las Vegas and spending his time with friends at the Royal Canadian Legion. Tod always offered his time and help to family members in need. Whether it was a special food delivery, car repairs or just his opinion and advice, he was just a phone call away. Tods most prized memories occurred during time he spent with friends and family in Winnipeg Beach. Though Tod struggled for years with his illness, he was careful to disguise his pain to others. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. A special thank you to all the staff at the Health Sciences Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8. It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to the eldest in the family, that was the first to die. He was a special man so gruff and so strong, but it will be our loss without him to get along. His pain is over and his life is gone, but the memory of his live blossoms on and on. We love you Tod, may you rest in peace. P. COUTU & CO FUNERAL DIRECTORS 156 Marion Street 949-4864
