FATHER BOB OUELLETTE

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFATHER BOB (LOU) OUELLETTE, S.M. On Sunday, March 19, 2000 at Tache Centre, surrounded by his family, Fr. Bob Ouellette, S.M. peacefully passed away at the age of 76. Fr. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Clarinda Ouellette; his sister Adelaide (Gordon Kaye) and brother Armand (Marianne) and seven brothers and sisters in their childhood. Uncle Lou will be lovingly rememebered by his brother Charles and sister Ida Waters from Tache Centre; brother Albert (Eileen) and sister Laura from Montreal and many nieces and nephews. Fr. Bob was born on June 6, 1923 in St. Boniface. In July of 1938 he went to the Marianist postulate in St. Luis and made his novitiate at Galesville, Wisconsin. He was professed on August 15, 1939. After working in Quebec and Manitoba, Br. Bob went to the Marianist Seminary in Fribourg, Switzerland and was ordained on July 18, 1954. On his return he was assigned to the States, then to St. Boniface and Africa. He returned to Canada in 1984 and spent two years at Holy Cross as assistant pastor and then pastor at St. Gerards until 1990, when he withdrew because of failing health. His quiet smile and sense of humour made him a good companion. He was esteemed by the youth with whom he worked and also excelled as a sportsman. Our heartfelt thank you to the many devoted and caring staff on 4ABC at Tache Centre. A special thank you to Rolande for her loving care given to Fr. Lou and each and every staff member too numerous to mention. We would also like to thank the staff on 5ABC Tache Centre and Bethania Special Care Unit. Funeral service will be held at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St. on Wednesday, March 22 at 2:00 p.m. presided by Father John Kracher, S.M., assisted by Father Luis Melo, S.M. and Father Jim Gray, pastor. Interment will follow at the St. Boniface Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nieces and nephews, Debbie Anderson, Susan Larocque, Caryn LaFleche, David Jr., Dan and Rob Waters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tache Centre (4ABC Activities), 185 Despins St., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2B3 or to the Holy Cross Food Depot, 252 Dubuc St., Winnipeg, MB, R2H 1E3.
