JACK KULLBERG Jack (John Guslav) Kullberg passed away in Brandon, March 13, 2000 at 75 years of age. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joan; son Richard (Rhonda) daughters, Melinda and Diane; granddaughters, Ashley, Amber and Alexa and his sister Marie Kullberg. His extended family includes Pamela (Mike Riley) McLean, Jason (Kristine and Becky) and Jacqui Kerr. Jack will also be remembered by his brother-in-law Laurie (Karen) Craddock and their children, Chris, Cam and Carla. He was predeceased by his mother Anna; father Nels and a brother Elmer who was killed overseas in 1944. Until his retirement in 1979, Jack operated Kullbergs Furniture Ltd. in Brandon, a business founded by his father in 1932. Jack turned the business over to his son Richard, which allowed him to pursue other interests. He was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Hospital board for ten years and a member of the Hospital Foundation. Jack also was on the Municipal Board of Revision for the City of Brandon for many years. He was a past president of the Brandon Toastmasters Club, member of Kinsmen, K40 and the Rotary Club. Jack was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed golfing at Clear Lake with the Senior Mens Club. He also spent many hours gardening at his cottage. Jack was fair and reasonable in his business and personal life and his keen sense of humour and hearty laugh will be much missed by his family and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 16 at St. Matthews Cathedral with The Very Rev. J.D. Njegovan officiating. Pallbearers were Dick McDonald, Wayne Mennie, Silvio Sboto, Ken Burgess, George Gillespie and Jason Kerr. Interment was in the Brandon Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. J. du Plooy for his wise and knowledgeable care and the RNs and LPNs on the Palliative Ward for their compassion and dedication. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Brandon General Hospital Foundation - Healthy Futures, 150 McTavish Ave. East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3 in memory of Jack. Arrangements were in care of Brockie Donovan, Brandon, 1-800-897-5694.
