MELANIE COMBOT Peacefully on March 19, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Melanie Combot passed away at the age of 89 years. She will be forever missed by her children, Annette (Oscar) Courchaine, Simone (Elgin) Bell, Paul (Mona) Combot, Jeanine (Ray) Monita; her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Anne Marie Palud; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph; her son Rene; her parents, Louis-Marie Palud and Marie-Anne Saliou; also numerous brothers and sisters. Melanie Palud was born December 18, 1910 in St. Laurent, Man. She moved to Aubigney, Man. where she married Joseph Combot. They moved to St. Germaine, Man. where she spent her time being a loving wife and mother. In 1963, they moved to St. Laurent where they enjoyed farming and gardening. Mom loved the country and worked side by side with Dad. She loved people and everyone was always welcome in her home, especially if they would play cards. After Dad passed away, Mom moved to Columbus Manor in St. Boniface. She became very involved in all the activities even winning a shuffle board trophy. Mom had many good friends at the Manor, especially, Irma, Albert, Maurice, Yvonne, Christina and Anne-Marie. They all cared for each other and became family. Mom was a very special person who touched everyone she met. She had a kind heart, a quick smile, a generous soul and a very deep spirituality. She is now with God in Heaven praying for us all. We will cherish our precious memories of her. "WE LOVE YOU" Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23 at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent. Rev. Fr.
