WILLIAM HENRY McBETH February 4, 1924 -March 17, 2000 William (Bill) Henry McBeth of Winnipeg passed away peacefully on March 17, 2000 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years Margaret (Peggy). He has always held a special place in the hearts of daughter Brenda and son-in-law Aggie Frazao and their daughter Kristina and his son Murray, daughter-in-law Darlene and their children, Valerie, Melissa, Alexander and Rachel. Also surviving are siblings, Betty Clements, Phyllis Moorehead, Richard (Dick) and Margaret McBeth and Nancy and Ivan Shillington and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Edith and Harry McBeth. Bill was born at St. Andrews, Man. on February 4, 1924. He worked for the CNR for 38 years starting as a section man and spent the last 14 years of his career as a roadmaster. After retiring in 1984 he loved working in the garden, "puttering" in his workshop and helping others. The funeral service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Chapel, 236-11th St., Brandon, on Wednesday, March 22 at 1:30 p.m. with United Church Clergy officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the chapel on Tuesday, March 21 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. as well as prior to the service. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are welcome to share your memories at a Celebration of Bills life to be held on Thursday, March 23 between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion on Osborne Street, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bills memory may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation or to a charity of choice. Heartfelt thanks to the special nurses and staff of the Riverview Palliative Care Unit who helped fill Bills last days with dignity and contentment.
