Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMANUEL REINHOLD KINTOP Emanuel Reinhold Kintop, beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, great-great uncle and friend passed away peacefully at home on his farm Friday, March 17, 2000 in Greenwald, MB. He is survived by his sisters; Hulda Patzer, Natalie Schnellert (Roy), Alma Kintop, Linda Beck; brothers, William Kintop (Elsie), Walter Kintop (Betty), Ronald Kintop, and sister-in-law Rose Kintop; also many (19) nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick Kintop (1972), Maria Kintop (Klann) 1976, brother Daniel Kintop (1997), brothers-in-law Leonard Patzer (1975) and Ervin Beck (1994). Manuel lived in Greenwald at his parents homestead his entire life, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on September 25, 1924 and baptized into the Christian faith on October 19, 1924 by pastor Ewald and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on May 13, 1940 by pastor Winter. He also served on the St. Johns Lutheran, Greenwald, church council a brief period of several years. He experienced many systemic obstacles in his early life such as the depression of the thirties, lack of farm mechanization and poor transportation and communication systems. Manuel worked as a partner in farming with his younger brother Walter for nearly 30 years. Both farmed grain and cattle. He also assisted in Walters dairy operation at times. In his twenties, thirties and early forties Manuel worked seasonally for Abitibi Pine Falls paper company cutting pulpwood and as a custodian in one of their winter bush camps. However, he loved the farm best of all and decided to expand and hence quit Abitibi. Manuel retired from active farming in 1990 handing over all major responsibilities and interests to Walter and his older sons. However, he still liked to armchair farm going to cattle auctions, auction sales, etc. with nephew and god-son Colin Kintop. Later in his retirement years, he enjoyed several winter vacations in Texas and Victoria, B.C. with his brother and sisters. He also enjoyed a trip to Alaska in August 1995 and some other mainland northern U.S.A. states in 1994. A highlight for him was the celebration of his 75th birthday last October with family and friends. We will miss his generously offered practical (sensible) advice, hearty sense of humour and willingness to help others. Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace according to thy Word; For mine eyes have seen thy salvation: which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles; and the glory of thy people Israel. Pallbearers will be his nephews Edmund Patzer, Gary Schnellert, Harlon Kintop, Dennis Kintop, David Beck and Colin Kintop. Many thanks to Dr. Ryckman of Selkirk Medical Centre for his professional services over the last several years and constable Jeff, RCMP Detachment, Beausejour, for his kind and thoughtful assistance. Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, MB. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 24 at 1:30 p.m., St. Johns Lutheran Church, Greenwald. Viewing one-half hour prior to the service with Pastor Arleen Berg officiating.
