PAUL SKIBINSKI Peacefully on Saturday, March 18, at the Fisher Personal Care Home in Fisher Branch, MB, Paul Skibinski of Fisher Branch, MB passed away at the age of 80. He is survived by one sister, Ann Bezlabanko of Buffalo, N.Y.; one sister-in-law, Mary Skibinski of Fisher Branch, MB and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Victoria Skibinski; his brothers, John, Mike, Joseph, Nick, Stanley and Charlie; one sister and two brothers in infancy; three sisters-in-law, Martha, Bertha and Pauline Skibinski; one brother-in-law, Frank Dezlabanko; and one nephew, Tony. Paul was born on the family farm, February 7, 1920, the youngest of eight children. In his youth, he attended Bartlett School, where his love of baseball was ignited. Paul lived on the farm most of his life. He lived and farmed with his brother, Joe, sister-in-law, Mary and brother, Charlie. Working together, they cleared land, produced grain and raised livestock. Paul, along with his brothers, spent the winter months logging various regions of the northern Interlake. Including the areas of the Mantagao River, Birch Point (Fisher Bay) and Lake St. George. Paul retired from farming in 1984. He moved to the Fisher Branch Chalet in 1987, where he resided for 12 years. In 1999, due to declining health, he moved into the Fisher Personal Care Home. Paul very much enjoyed socializing and playing cards with his fellow residents. The family wishes to thank Pauls Home Care attendants and the staff of the Fisher Personal Care Home for their attentive and loving care. A special thank you to Shannon Pyziak, whos compassionate devotion to the caring of others surpasses all. Paul will be sadly missed by his family, especially his devoted nephew, Victor Skibinski, who so lovingly cared for Paul in his later years. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 23, at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Fisher Branch, MB at 10:30 a.m., with Father David Kowalski officiating. Followed by interment at the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Obszarski, Frank Rudnicki, Clifford Skibinski, Mike Stocki, Nick Sanduliak and Ernest LeTexier. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher Personal Care Home. We love you dearly, Uncle Paul and will miss you so. Rest in Peace.
