MARILYN JANE DAY (nee LESLIE) After a brief struggle with cancer, Marilyn Day died at the Grace General Hospital with family and friends by her side. She was 63. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Donald Joseph and parents, Gladys and Beverly James Leslie. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Lynne (Kevin), James (Myra) and Michael (Jacqueline) grandchildren, Conor, Riley, Jennifer and Sean; sisters-in-law, Jean and Teresa; mother-in-law Marie Day, aunt Florence and numerous relatives and friends. Marilyn was born in Toronto in 1936. She taught school in the mid fifties. She married Don in 1957, then moved to Francis, Sask. in 1961 (in order for Don to begin studies leading to ministry in the United Church of Canada). After Ordination they settled in Morse, Sask., followed by service in Naicam, then Winnipeg to this date. Mom worked in the City of Winnipeg Library System for 20 years until retiring in 1999. She enjoyed her four grandchildren, time spent at the cottage, gardening, crafts, playing cards and travelling. She was a member of Sturgeon Creek United Church. She was a great hockey fan (Go Leafs!). She was interested in Genealogy and enjoyed making contact with distant family members. Our thanks to doctors, Inglis, Harris, Mulder, Sylwestrowicz and the staff on 4th Floor South for their skills and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr., on Friday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Moms memory to the Cancer Society, Grace General Hospital Foundation or Sturgeon Creek United Church Memorial Fund.
