Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLAIRE BAKER (nee LANE) Claire Baker (nee Lane), passed away peacefully on March 21, 2000 at the Victoria Hospital. Claire was born in St. Boniface and was predeceased by her devoted husband Bill in January, 1999 and beloved son Donald in January, 1995; her parents, Candace (nee Daignault) and William Lane; brothers, Arthur, Henry and Wilfred and sisters, Alice Lane and Anne Roh. She is survived by grandchildren, Chris and Tannis and will be sadly missed by her treasured great-granddaughter Katrina of Portage la Prairie. Claire leaves to mourn her goddaughter and niece, Sharron Roh Taillieu and husband Edmond of East St. Paul, Man. Sharron will cherish memories of her Auntie Claires love, amazing wit and all the carefree childhood summers growing up together at the lake with cousin Donald. Claire enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home and through her sense of humour and "joie de vie" brought joy and laughter to many people. She especially delighted in travelling, as well as sewing, bowling, curling and gardening. Claire and husband Bill retired from Winnipeg to Pinawa in 1985 and during that time travelled between their winter home in Texas and residence in Pinawa every year, before she took up residence at Foyer Valade Personal Care Home in March, 1999. She will be sadly missed by all her friends, family and neighbours. Cremation has taken place with interment at the Pinawa Cemetery. A family attended Mass will be held. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Claires memory may be made to furnish the new "family room" at Foyer Valade, 450 River Road, Winnipeg, MB, R2M 5M4.
