NANCIE J. MAURO (nee TOOLEY) Nancie Mauro died suddenly on Wednesday, March 22, 2000 while vacationing in her favourite winter destination, Palm Desert, California. She is survived by her husband Arthur; her children, Barbara, Christine, Jennifer and Greg; her grandchildren, Jeff, Andrew, Nick, Alex and Sarah; her brother Arthur and many nieces and nephews. Her special niece and friend Heather Watt was with her shortly before she died. Nancie was born and spent most of her life in Winnipeg. She had numerous close and long time friends, many dating from her time at Rupertsland School and the University of Manitoba. Nancie was a firm believer that one had a duty to give back to society. Throughout her life she was an active volunteer with many organizations; from the Junior League in her younger years to, more recently, the CNIB where she spent many hours taping books for the blind. Always interested, ever caring, a constant support. She will be missed.
