ROBERT (OBIE) NEILLINGS It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Obie Neillings, March 24, at the Grace Hospital. Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Florence, wife Joan, sister Joyce (Chuck) Doman, brother-in-law Don Nichol, daughter Debbie (Randy) Williams, son Tom (Karen) Neillings, daughter Barbara (Pat) Doyle, son Donald (Rhonda) Neillings, grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Christine, John, Scott, Tyler, Christa, Kelsey and his nieces Terry, Colleen, Denise and their families. He was predeceased by his father Thomas and nephew Donald Doman. Obie was born in Winnipeg October 24, 1935. He attended Wellington, General Wolfe, and Daniel McIntyre schools. Joan and Obie were married on March 5, 1955. He was employed by Robinson Lighting and EECOL Electric for 41 years until his retirement in 1997. His greatest love, in his younger days, was playing fastball for the Winnipeg Senior Mens League. It was a sport that he excelled at for many years. Upon retirement, he spent many enjoyable hours with good friends playing pool, darts, and cards at the ANAF No. 1 John Osborne Legion. Obie was a wonderful man with a kind heart and a keen sense of humour. He was always there to lend a hand or an ear; whichever was required. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 28 at 11:30 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with the Padre Stan Millar officiating. Dad, you will be sorrowfully missed by everyone who knew you. We love you! In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
