BEVERLEY SIMPSON (nee NASH) Peacefully, on Saturday, March 25, 2000 with her family at her bedside, Bev passed away at the Concordia Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Charles; children, Lisa, Stewart and Cameron (Cherie) grandchildren, Kris and Ryan Karpoff; sister Audrey Stanger; brother Culver "Pete" Nash (Doreen) sister-in-law Elizabeth Reiman (Ed) many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Frank and Vanessa Nash; sister Virginia Rys (Steve) brother-in-law Walter Stanger; in-laws, Charles and Marget Simpson; brother-in-law James Simpson (Olga). Bev was born March 8, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB, raised on Noble Avenue in Elmwood. Married Charles on November 18, 1955 and together they raised their family in Rivercrest, MB. Mum was involved in the Girl Guides of Canada for many years, volunteered at the Middlechurch Home, was a member of the Rivercrest United Church, the United Church Women, and the Christian Womens Club. She taught yoga through the Seven Oaks School Division. Mum loved spending time at the cottage at Brereton Lake. Enjoyed music and playing the organ and always challenged herself with the Crypotoquote puzzle in the newspaper. Bev was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose strength and compassion was an inspiration to us all. Service of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Green Acres Lane, with Rev. Christine Bridgett officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bevs memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Concordia Hospital staff in the Oncology Department and nursing staff (Ward 3W) and Dr. Pat Harris for the compassion and care given our Mum.
