RUBY CUMBERS Peacefully, on March 26, 2000 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Ruby Cumbers, widow of the late Ernest Cumbers, passed away. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Orchid, Patricia, Tom, Doug, Lorraine, Lynda, Enid, and their families; as well as her "adopted" daughter Anna and her family, especially Kathy. Predeceased by her husband Ernest in 1978, three brothers and two sisters. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Middlechurch Home and Seven Oaks Hospital. She was born September 25, 1907. Ruby was a longtime, faithful member of Gordon King Memorial United Church. She loved poetry, gardening and was an avid learner. Auntie Ruby lived for 70 years at 200 Dearborn Ave., and will be missed by all her neighbours. She loved family and lived a good life as "wife and mother" to Bruce and Enid. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A private family interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made to Gordon King Memorial United Church, 127 Cobourg Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2L 0H4; or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
