Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA MARIE (ANN) BROWN Peacefully, on her 96th birthday, March 25, 2000, Ann Brown passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home. Predeceased by her husband Bland; daughter Etta; brothers, Ernest, Otto and Richard; she will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Blanche and husband John Dawson; granddaughter Karen Letkeman, Sandra (Paul) Foley, Lenore (Jim) Mitchell; great-grandchildren Zachary, Mallory and Sydney Letkeman, Michaela Foley and Bailey Mitchell; sisters-in-law, Elsie Hengstler and Phyllis Hengstler of Punnichy; nieces and nephews in Sask, B.C. and Scotland. Ann was raised in Punnichy, Sask and came to Winnipeg as a young adult. She married Bland in 1927 and with two daughters they settled in West Kildonan in 1934 where she resided in her home till two days before her death. She enjoyed gardening and always grew many varieties of flowers and vegetables winning awards with Bland for the small grounds from the Horticultural Society of West Kildonan. She was a member of Kildonan United Church and enjoyed the fellowship of Unit 4, Sewing, embroidering and crocheting for their annual bazaars. She was also a member of Robert Burns Camp, Sons of Scotland for many years. Her many summers spent at the cottage at Matlock were also very special. Many thanks to Home Care, Mae, Lisa, Lorelie and others who cared for Mom to allow her to stay in her home. Meals on Wheels volunteers and also Jamie Fisher, your help and support was greatly appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Avenue with Rev. Tony Maunder officiating. Private family interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kildonan United Church, or a charity of your choice.
