LOTHAR A. KINAST (LOU) Peacefully, on Monday, March 27, 2000 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, with his family at his side, Lou Kinast passed away at the age of 68 years. Lou was born in Hannover, Germany on July 4, 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1952. He married Ursula Teschner in 1953. He was a proud, loving father and grandfather to Evelyn (Richard) Comely (Jason and Debbie, Corey, Jennifer, Christian, Jordan, Jamie, Joel and Daniel) of Cambridge, ON; Henry (Janice) (Nathan and Erika) of Lethbridge, AB; Diana (Terry) Burzuik (Karlene (Larry), Kendra and Kelly) Ernie (Lori) (Ehren and Stacey) and Leona (Lorne) Vopni (Allison and Duncan), all of Selkirk; and Gerald (Sherri) of Winnipeg. He also leaves four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives in Germany. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters. Lou worked at Manitoba Hydro for 30 years. He coached Selkirk Minor soccer, was a past member of the A.N.A.F., unit 151, and the Selkirk Chamber of Commerce. At his request cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham Fuchs and all the staff at the Selkirk Hospital for their excellent care and kindness.
