Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA KUZ (MONETA) Anna Kuz, aged 100 years, passed away peacefully on March 29, at the Whitemouth District Personal Care Home. Anna was born in Poland on October 12, 1899 to Joseph and Pauline Moneta. In 1905 she immigrated to Canada with her mother and two sisters to join her father. The family moved to Hadashville, Man. in 1907 where Anna was to live for most of her life. She married Daniel Kuz in 1919 and they were blessed with five children, Bobby (deceased in childhood), Sophie, Joseph, Nick, and Rose. Anna and Daniel were pioneers in the Hadashville area and devoted their lives to their farm and family. Anna was a strong independent pioneer woman whose life spanned three centuries. "Bobchi", as she was known to her family, had many abilities and talents which enabled her to lead a very long and productive life. She only had a grade one education but taught herself to read and write and still had her full mental abilities until a couple of years ago. She spent her active years helping to run the farm, managing her household and caring for her family. There was always a large vegetable garden and flowers all around her house. Sewing was one of her special talents which she had used to create garments for her own family as well as community members in need. Bobchi enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was an excellent cook and experienced wine maker. Her religion and Polish heritage were always important to her. In her retirement years she enjoyed crocheting, making paper flowers and writing letters. She always had time for family and friends and advice for all of us. Anna was predeceased by her parents; husband Daniel in 1969; sisters, Rose and Mary (Jasmir), brothers, Alphonse and Frank; sisters-in-law, Jenny and Angela; and son-in-law Mike. She is survived by her brother William; her daughters, Sophie Lamaga and Rose (John) Lenzmeier; and her sons, Joseph and Nick. Bobchi will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Myron (Louise), Pat (Russell), Brendan, Kara (Rob) and great-grandchildren, Lorraine (Lon), Daniel and Melissa. The family would like to thank the staff of the Whitemouth District Personal Care Home for their dedication and care over the past eight years. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, Man. between 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Hadashville, Man.
