JOHN ALOIS SCHNEIDER Suddenly on March 29th at Concordia Hospital, John Alois Schneider, passed away. John will be sadly missed by his only son Edward; daughter-in-law Susan; grandchildren, Chantel, Erica and Regan and the many friends he had made during his 88 years on earth. John was born June 18, 1911. He was a Second World War Veteran. John often fascinated people with his tales of being a prisoner of war until the American liberation. Always in excellent physical condition, he enjoyed arm wrestling with younger people and it wasnt uncommon for him to win against a 21 year old at the age of 82. Exercise and fitness were very important to him and he had a regiment right up to the end. Even while in hospital awaiting an opening in supportive housing, John could be found jogging in the halls, doing push ups in his room or pushing other patients in their wheelchairs around the floor. He touched everybody he met with his smiling face and warm personality. John spent Tuesdays at Middlechurch Home day program for seniors where both staff and residents enjoyed his presence. He was very excited about his upcoming move into a seniors home where there would be daily activities and people to socialize with. John lived his life a happy, proud and very dignified man; he passed away in exactly the same manner. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 3, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. Viewing will be held prior to the service at Neil Bardal Inc. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital for helping make Johns final days happy. A special thank you to Joanne McMahon for everything she did.
