Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN SADOWIAK John Sadowiak passed away peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital, Wednesday, March 29, with his wife and granddaughter by his side. John was born in Winnipeg on October 29, 1922. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Anne and Mary, and one brother Peter. He is survived by his wife Irene and four stepchildren, Jacqueline Marais (Laurent), David Botterill (May), Rev. Bonnie Botterill (friend Dennis), Lindsay Botterill (Lynne) and six grandchildren, Dana Gillespie, Chantal and Matthew Morais, Corrie and Brittany Botterill, Christopher Botterill; also three nephews and several nieces. John enjoyed hunting with friends, Bill and Laurence and his nephews, Walter, Steve and Metro. He also enjoyed fishing and in his early years was an avid curler and enjoyed bowling. He spent most of his years working in various mines in Northern Ontario and spent 30 years at the Dichenson Mine in the Red Lake area. In 1971 he married Irene Botterill (Manns) and when he retired in 1985 they moved to Winnipeg. Visitation will be held in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. on Monday, April 3 from from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m., with The Rev. Gordon Fulford officiating, at the Grey Street United Church, N.E. Grey and Sandhurst. A gathering of family and friends will follow. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to all the nurses and doctors who took such good care of my husband in the I.C.U., also thanks to Gail for being with me when I needed someone, thanks to Bill Steinke for driving me to the hospital and to all my family for being there when I needed them.
