VERNER JENSEN On March 28, 2000 at the Health Science Centre, Verner passed away at the age of 72. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Violet of 42 years; two sons, Wayne and Brian; and daughter Kathy (her husband Michael and children, Lee Ann and Sara) brother Swend; sisters, Rae (Shaver) and Eva (Joe Laramie) brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Verner was predeceased by his parents; brother Willie; brother-in-law Ronnie Shaver and his very special friend Bart Boon. Verner was born and raised on his parents farm at Ostenfeld, Man. He met and married Violet in Winnipeg on June 15, 1957. They were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Verner was employed with Canadian Liquid Air for over 40 years until his retirement. He still enjoyed his Tuesday luncheons with some friends he worked with. Verner enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with family and friends. He always looked forward to a good card game. His hobbies included making frames and helping Violet with her Paper Tole pictures and crafts. He became quite a handyman for family and friends. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Ward for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Monday April 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow. Pastor Theodore Chell officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke foundation 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg Man. R3B 2H8.
