MARY ELIZABETH BATENCHUK October 20, 1922 - March 31, 2000 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Batenchuk, on March 31, 2000, at the Percy E. Moore Hospital at the age of 77 years. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael; sons, Donald (Virginia) and Louis (Geraldine) daughters, Jane and Bernadette (Phillip) Dolinski; sisters, Pearl, Mildred (Ernie) and Zelma; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Mary was predeceased by her sons, Joey, Lloyd and Mike; daughter Lena; brother Andrew; and by her grandson Wade. Mary was born and raised in Big Black River. Everyone called her "ma," she was always happy and smiling. Granny enjoyed cooking, beading and tanning. She fed everyone and welcomed everyone in her home. She will be sadly missed. The family would like to thank the staff and the Percy E. Moore Hospital and St. Boniface Hospital as well as the Poplar River and Peguis First Nations. A wake service will be held on Sunday, April 2, at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 3, at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Fisher River House of Prayer, Fisher River, Man.
