LETITIA MAUDE LYNDS (nee McRAE) Peacefully on March 31, 2000, at Central Park Lodge, Letitia Maude Lynds, widow of the late Arthur Lynds, passed away at the age of 98 years. Leta leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Carole, and son-in-law Wayne Clark, grandson Cary and his wife Audra, great granddaughter Brooklynn, grandson Kevin, granddaughter Kimberly and her husband Dwayne Wheeler. Her son Howard and daughter-in-law Elayne, grandson Travis and his wife Nancy, great grandsons, Ryan, Eric, Colin, and Cory of Winnipeg. Her first grandson Brent, and his wife Kelly, great grandson Kyle and great granddaughter Marissa of Victoria, B.C. Two half brothers John McRae of Katrime, Grant McRae and his wife Marie of Gladstone, half sister Loreen and her husband Fred Amann of Austin and their families. Leta was predeceased by her parents John Alexander Wellington McRae in 1962, and Martha Anne McRae (Ferris) in 1906. Her husband Arthur in 1983, her brothers Clarence in 1917, Melvin in 1988, sisters Jean Lake in 1992, Margaret McIntosh in 1991, stepmother Minnie McRae in 1987, and half sister-in-law Jean McRae in 1995. Leta was born July 15, 1901 and resided on her fathers farm at Katrime, Man. until July 1923. Leta married Arthur Lloyd Lynds, who was employed as a station agent-telegraph operator for Canadian National Railways, July 23, 1923. They resided in Ochre River, Man. until May 1924, Gladstone, Man. until June 1926, Scarth, Man. until July 1944, Plumas, Man. until December 1957, with a short stay at Brunkild, Man. 1947- 1948, Pine Falls, Man. until November 1964, retiring to Winnipeg December 1964. Leta was a dedicated mother and homemaker; she dearly loved her family and relatives. She was active in the United Church and often helped out playing the organ for church services. She loved to sing in the church choir and spent many hours baking and helping at church and community functions. The family would like to thank the staff for their care and kindness during Letas six year stay at Central Park Lodge, 70 Poseidon Bay, Winnipeg. Friends may call at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Tuesday April 4. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Marys Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Blvd. at Haney in Charleswood. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. After which a reception will be held for Letas friends and relatives at Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
