ERICA ANNA HOFTEIG (nee HALLSON) May 9, 1929 - April 3, 2000 After a lengthy illness, Erica passed away at Health Science Centre, Winnipeg, with family by her side. She was predeceased by her mother Unnur (nee Hurdal), her father Stefan, her brothers Gisli and Simundur, and her sister Hazel. She is survived by her husband Ferdinand, daughter Karen (Darryl) Clement; sons Don (Karin) and Robert (Brenda) and grandchildren Shelley (Rodney) Hall, Derek, and Kristin. She is also survived by her brothers Siggi and Stefan (Elsie). Erica was born at Siglunes, MB and met Ferdie while working in Winnipeg in 1947. They married and then lived in Thessalon, ON, Atikokan, ON, Lundar, MB, Delta, BC, Kelowna, BC, and in Northern Manitoba before settling back in Ear Falls in 1975 where they remained. Erica was an active member of Ear Falls Legion Branch 238, donating her time and services. For many years she enjoyed curling, hunting, fishing and dancing. She especially enjoyed her garden every year. A funeral service will be held at the Ear Falls Legion, 2:00 p.m., Saturday April 8. Rev. Rae Kiebuzinski will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association of the Kidney Foundation.
