LUCIA ADELE BRIERE (nee DUMONT) Peacefully, on Monday, April 3, 2000, Lucia passed away at her residence, Villa Youville in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Bernadette (Bernard) Favreau of Prince Albert, Sask.; son, Laurent (Gladys) of Moose Jaw, Sask.; daughter-in-law, Angela Briere of Mankota, Sask.; daughter, Agnes (Sylvio) LaFleche of Ile-des-Chenes, Man.; daughter, Lilianne (Richard) Squires of Beaumont, Alta., as well as 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sinai in 1985; daughter, Annette in 1941; sons, Charles in 1950 and Marcel in 1994; grandchildren, Joseph in 1956 and Rox-Anne in 1962. Lucia was born on August 15, 1907 in Lac-Megantic, Quebec. She married Sinai (Sam) Briere on February 10, 1926. Funeral services will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-la-Misericorde Church in Ile-des-Chenes, Man. on Thursday, April 6. Viewing and prayer service will begin at 2:30 p.m. Father Marcel Carriere will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the Ile-des-Chenes Parish Cemetery following the mass. Pallbearers will be Lucias grandchildren. Lucias family wishes to thank the staff at Villa Youville for the care given to our Maman and Memere. Special thank you also to France LaFleche for her care and compassion. Should friends so desire, donations in Lucias memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
