SIGRUN (BABE) ADA McARTHUR (nee THORGRIMSSON) Peacefully, after a brief battle with lung cancer, Sigrun (Babe) Ada McArthur found her final peace on Monday, April 3 with her family by her side. Babe leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband Warren (Bud), her children, Brian, Blake (Lauren) and Ben, her grandchildren Heather and Devin, her sister Hrund, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Sigrun was predeceased by her brothers Brian, Freyr, Heimer and Thor, and by her sister Sif. Babe was born in Lundar on June 2, 1924. At the age of 16, she moved to Winnipeg where she spent the rest of her life. In 1953 she met the man of her dreams and together they shared 47 wonderful years. Babe was a kind and caring person who touched the lives of everyone who had the chance to meet her. Her warm smile and her gentle manner will be fondly remembered, and will live on in our hearts forever. The family wishes to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Center for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage, entrance on Aubrey, with Pastor Isfeld of the First Lutheran Church officiating.
