WALTER (WALLY) JAMES CRESSALL Peacefully on April 4, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital, Walter (Wally) James Cressall, dearly beloved father and grandfather, passed away at age 88 years. Born March 19, 1912 in Thunder Bay, ON, Wally moved to Winnipeg with his family in 1919, residing there ever since. In 1927, Wally began his employment with the C.N.R., retiring in 1972. He spent many enjoyable hours at the cottage with his family and friends at Otter Falls. Wally was a longtime member of Tabor Baptist Church. Predeceased by his brother Reg in 1977 and his wife Ethel in 1997, Wally leaves to mourn and cherish his memory a sister, Mrs. Mabel Mussell of Winnipeg; son Donald and his wife Myrna; his grandchildren, Leslie (Gary) Dudeck, Glen (Kerry) Cressall and Gary Cressall; three great-grandchildren, J.D., Haley Dawn and Devann Nicole; four nephews and two nieces. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Union Gospel Mission, 320 Princess Ave., Winnipeg or to the Concordia Hospital Foundation, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg R2K 3S8. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Ormiston, the staff of 3rd Floor, S.E. Concordia and 2nd Floor, N.E. Concordia, for the tender, compassionate care provided to our father and grandfather. Also special thanks to all those who visited and spent time with Dad during his extended stay. Your thoughtful, caring ways will long be remembered. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 7 at Tabor Baptist Church, Madeline and Harvard Ave., W., with Larry Hirst officiating. Burial to follow at the Transcona Cemetery. "Amazing grace, How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me." Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
