ADELE JANE POWELL (nee ALCORN) It is with sadness that we announce the death of Dele, who passed away at the Fort Garry Care Centre on Monday, April 4, 2000 at the age of 83 years. She will be forever remembered by her loving family, her three children, Keith (Hilda) of Prince Albert, SK, Doreen (Bob) Humenchuk of Winnipeg, MB and Lois (Dave) Thomas of Calgary, AB; seven grandchildren, Lori-Jane and Ryan Powell, David, Jamie (Michelle Thompson) Paul Humenchuk, David Thomas and Colleen (Ben) Groot; and great-grandchildren, Sydney and Brett Humenchuk. She was predeceased by her husband and seven brothers and sisters. Adele was born on July 31, 1916 in Aneroid, SK. She spent her life devoted to her husband and raising their children and received great joy from her grandchildren. She lived and raised her family in Melville, SK, before moving to Winnipeg in 1960. Dele and Sid spent their summers enjoying their cabin with family and friends at Moose Bay, SK. She showed a positive attitude and amazing strength and perseverance after suffering a stroke in her early 40s. The last four years her home was at the Fort Garry Care Centre, where she enjoyed loving care and found a second family. We love and will always remember you Dele, mom, grandma and great-grandma. A celebration of Deles life will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley Street. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 7, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 8, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Donations in Deles memory may be made to the charity of ones choice.
