GYSBERTUS "BERT" van LEEUWEN Bert van Leeuwen, 71 years, of Rainy River, ON, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, April 4, 2000 at St. Boniface Hospital. Bert is survived by his wife Anna; children, Tom (Liz) and their children, Erin, Joyce, Laura, and Kaitlin, of Winnipeg, Annette and her children, Jason and Stephanie of Winnipeg, Florence (Guy) and their child Tristan of Rainy River, Joyce (Edwin) and their children, Starr, Natasha, Santana, and Patrice of Rainy River, and Jim (Isabella) and their children, Brittney and James of Winnipeg. He also leaves behind brothers, Teus (Dirs) of Winnipeg, John of Winnipeg, Kees (Annie) of Holland, and Roel (Jane) of Brampton, ON.; sisters, Willie of Winnipeg, Joan (Carl) of Winnipeg, and Willemyntje of Houston, BC; and sister-in-law Diane of Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his parents, Antje and Alblas van Leeuwen; sister Alida Elizabeth and brother Henk. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 7 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Emo Christian Reformed Church in Emo, ON. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Emo Christian Reformed Church in Emo, ON. Rev. Gerald VanSmeerdyk will officiate with interment in McInnis Creek Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Mark VanHeyst, Ed Wiersema, Ben Wiersema, Jake van Leeuwen, Rudy Sinnighe, and Bert van Leeuwen. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
