Peacefully on April 6, 2000, John Mattis of Winnipeg, MB, beloved husband of Katharina passed away at the Concordia Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Besides his wife he leaves to mourn his children, John (Janet), Rudy (Judith), Maggie (Ken) and Fred (Maria) 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Johns family would like to give special thanks to the Personal Care Unit of Concordia Hospital and the nurses of 3 East. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Heights Mennonite Church, 570 Sharron Bay. Cremation will follow the service and interment will take place at a later date at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, donations in Johns name may be made to Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home, 1045 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2K 3S7.
