Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNON WESLEY SCOWBY Vernon Wesley Scowby born in Winnipeg, October 11, 1922, died April 3, 2000, Maple Ridge. Vern is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marie (nee Worster) his children, Bryan (Lorraine), Linda (Bob), Glen (Gail) and his loving grandchildren, Christa, David, Glen, Heather, Jill, Ian, Bill and Pamela. Also survived by his brother Garnet (Mary) from Montreal and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in Manitoba. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many loyal and good friends especially those in Riverside Building in Maple Ridge. Vern served overseas in the Royal Canadian Dragoons during the Second World War from 1942 to 1946. Vern worked for Johnston Terminals for 31 years and was a member of Teamsters Local 31. During the late 1940s and early 50s, Vern was a member of the Kerrisdale Cricket Club and was an outstanding bowler. The family wishes to thank the staff at Ridge Meadows Hospital and Alouette Manor for their special care and kindness during these last six months. Memorial service to be held at St. John the Divine Anglican Church, 21299 River Rd. (at Laity St.) Maple Ridge, BC at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 10. Reception to follow. All friends welcome.
