ARLENE JOYCE BONNER-VICKERS (nee GRETSINGER) On Sunday, April 2, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital, our beloved mother, Arlene, aged 73, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Born January 20, 1927 in Beausejour, Man., Arlene will be forever remembered as a devoted mother and loving grandmother. No matter what life presented her with, she approached all challenges with the same quiet determination that was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Arlenes inner strength and "grace under pressure attitude" gave testimony to the truly generous and selfless person she was. Her absence will be forever felt. Arlene was predeceased by her father Edward Gretsinger; her mother Pauline Gretsinger (Roller) brother Kenneth Gretsinger and sister-in-law Jean Gretsinger. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her daughter Catherine Penner and her husband Lindsay of Winnipeg; son Christopher Bonner-Vickers and his wife Jody of Fort Frances, Ont.; son Jonathan Bonner-Vickers and his wife Melanie of Winnipeg; five grandchildren, Jason, Brittany, Kailey, Rory and Kelsey of whom she was so very proud; brother Raymond Gretsinger of Beausejour; sister Carol James and husband Bryan of Lethbridge, Alta.; sister-in-law Rachel Gretsinger; as well as several nieces and nephews. In compliance with Arlenes wishes, no public service will be held. Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of her life on Saturday, April 15 during a "come and go" tea from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 63 Leisure Bay, Winnipeg. A private family interment will take place in the Beausejour Cemetery, Beausejour, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Arlenes memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7. "As long as we can love each other and remember the feeling of love we had, we can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still there. All the memories are still there. You live on in the hearts of everyone you have touched and nurtured while you were here" Mitch Albom, "Tuesdays with Maury" Arlenes family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of: WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
