RUSSELL MOTKALUK 1942 - 2000 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Russell, age 58, on April 1, 2000 at his residence in Surrey, B.C. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife Rose; son Richard and Sandy; grandsons, Steven and Riley of Winnipeg; son Randy and Tracey of Surrey, B.C.; sisters, Anne and John Horcoff (Victoria, B.C.), Liz and Don Wiwcharuk (Gilbert Plains, Man.), Sharon and Mark Brading (Bowsman, Man.) brothers, Archie and Vickie (Winnipeg), Charlie and Bev (St. Laurent, Man.), Ernie (Edmonton, Alta), Melvin (Vancouver, B.C.) and sister-in-law Edith Motkaluk (Winnipeg) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Russell was born to Mike and Teenie Motkaluk in Renwer, Man. on January 14, 1942. He was educated in the Deer Path School District. He married Rose Chymy in 1965 and made Winnipeg home where they raised their sons, Richard and Randy. Russell spent his working life in road construction with Kuzyk (Amalgamated) Construction. He enjoyed tinkering on vehicles and could always be found touring the city with his loyal companion, Lightning, before retiring in B.C. Russell was predeceased by his mother and father; brothers, Nelson and Harry, and sister Cassandra. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at John Black Memorial United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy. at Roberta on Friday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
