LAWRENCE DANIEL OGOREK March 17, 1954 - April 7, 2000 Peacefully in the early morning of April 7, 2000, surrounded by his family, Larry OGorek passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Larry will be missed by the love of his life, his beloved wife of 25 years, Hildegarde; his four daughters, Chrissy (Jason) Zilinsky, Elizabeth (Shawn), Laura (Dale) and Linda (Jason) his mother Anna; his sisters, Darlene (Jack) Rodych, Dianne (Paul) Castle and Loretta (John) MacFadzean and their children; his father-in-law Herbert Bertram; as well as numerous friends, including Errol and Ron. Larry is predeceased by his father Daniel and his mother-in-law Margaret. In 1991 Larry suffered a spinal cord injury which paralysed his from the neck down. He taught us how determined a man he was: his recovery was labelled "almost a miracle;" the nine years that followed truly were a miracle and a blessing. When he was diagnosed with cancer in 1998 he fought to live the next two years, to watch all of his daughters grow up and especially to see his grandchildren. One of the better ways to get him to succeed was to tell him he couldnt; he was a "whiz" at anything he set his hand to, a genius at the multitude of things he did. Heartfelt thanks go from the family to the doctors, to the homecare nurses and to the staff at Riverview Health Centre who were also lucky enough to get a glimpse of his wit and charm. An extra special thank you goes out to our extended family at Kitchen Craft, who went beyond the call of duty - especially to Herb and Erna, Hugo and Margaret and Larrys buddies in maintenance. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance and celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Reception Centre. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Lawn Funeral Home 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
