LENA PENNER Peacefully surrounded by her family, Lena Penner, age 95 years, passed away at the Fort Garry Care Centre, on Friday, April 7, 2000. Lena was predeceased by her husband Jacob on April 6, 1959. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jake (Lorraine), Anne Braun, John (Marion), Helen Sherbino (Bob), Pete, Bernie (Bev), Ruth Penner and Betty Penner; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mom was a very loving and generous person, who always put others needs ahead of her own. She lived life to its fullest. She loved nature, especially her animals. She enjoyed the companionship of 4 dogs, Poncho, Jenna, Tara and Sabre. Even though she is no longer with us, her memory will live within our hearts forever. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Windsor Park United Church, corner of Autumnwood Dr. and Cottonwood Rd. Rev. Sharon Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Rosenfeld Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of ones choice, or to the Manitoba Diabetes Association.
