PIOTR PAWEL JONCA Peacefully after a short illness, Piotr Jonca passed away at the Grace General Hospital on Friday, April 7, 2000, at the age of 87 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Henryka; son Tom (Rosie) daughters, Anna Guerra (Tony), Elizabeth; grandchildren, Robert (Malgorzata), Henry and Monica; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Cassidy; as well as several nieces, nephews and relatives in Poland and the United States. Piotr loved nature and enjoyed gardening, and beautified the Charleswood area by planting numerous trees in his yard which his family will cherish forever. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, April 11, in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 12, at 10:00 a.m., also in the church with Rev. Msgr. Stan Jaworski presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemtery, 3990 Portage Ave. Our family wishes to express a sincere thanks to the doctors and staff at the Grace General Hospital for their dedication and care given to Piotr in his last three weeks in the hospital and for making him comfortable. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Piotrs memory to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 2B7, or the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8.
