CARMELO COSTANZO Peacefully, at the age of 65, on April 9, 2000, Carmelo Costanzo passed away at the Seven Oaks General Hospital with his loving family at his side. Carmelo was born in Ali, Superiore, Messina, Sicily, Italy on November 17, 1934, and immigrated to Canada with his wife Cecilia and children. He chose Winnipeg as his home where he worked in construction for many years. He lived his life for his family. Besides his wife Cecilia of 45 years, Carmelo leaves to mourn his daughters, Maria (John Owczar), Carmela (Corrado Lao) and son Salvatore Costanzo; as well as his special grandchildren, Francesca and Corrado; two brothers Paolo Costanzo and Antonio Costanzo; sister Tonia in Italy and other relatives and good friends. Our father was a man of few words who had an uncomplicated and simple life. His garden and his home were his castle. Now Papa, youll have an endless garden and a castle in Heaven forever. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano officiating. Entombment will follow in Assumption Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Salvatore Costanzo, Chris Mikolash, Barry Mikolash, Nick Kuzbyt, Steve Nemeth and Michael Manicotto. If friends and family desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carmelo Costanzo may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Mb.
