IDA WATERS (nee OUELLETTE) On Monday, April 10, 2000, after a lengthy illness, warmed by the love of her family, Ida Waters peacefully passed away from this world. Ida was predeceased by her parents Charles and Clarinda Ouellette; her sister Adelaide (Gordon Kaye) her brother Armand (Marianne) her brother Father Bob "Lou" Ouellette (on March 19, 2000) and her loving husband Hugh "Mac" on March 19, 1979. He remained in her heart always. She was also predeceased by, in her childhood, seven brothers and sisters. Mum will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Patsy (Roger Dufresne), her son David (Penny Smith) grandchildren Susan, Wendy, Caryn, David, Daniel, Robert, Jordan, Lynn, Debbie and Lisa; and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Charles from Tache Centre, her brother Albert (Eileen) and her sister Laura from Montreal. Ida was born on July 1, 1914 in St. Boniface and attended school at St. Josephs Academy. She met Mac Waters in her early 20s and they married on May 31, 1941. They moved into the home Mum was born in, raised their two children in that home. Mum remained there after Dads death in the spring of 1979 until a stroke hospitalised her a few weeks after her 75th Birthday. Mums home was the hub of the Ouellette and Waters families. Her life was dedicated to family - it was the most important part of her life, always. She was a friend to all, a patient listener and confidant to many - and in particular to her grandchildren who she loved with abundance and with whom she shared many wonderful secrets. The last ten years of her life were difficult and now she is thankfully at peace. We wish to thank the staff at 3 DE Tache Centre and Bethania Care Unit and express a special heartfelt thanks to all the staff, too numerous to name, on 5 ABC at Tache Centre for the loving care they gave to Mum. Funeral service will be held at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St. on Friday, April 14, at 1:00 p.m. presided by Father Jim Gray, pastor. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren Debbie Anderson, Susan Laroque, Caryn LaFleche, David Jr., Daniel and Rob Waters. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Idas memory to the Tache Centre (5 ABC Activities), 185 Despins St., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2B3. "See you later Mum." "Bye Bye Grandma, love you." Safely Home I am home in heaven, dear ones; Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, Every restless tossing passed; I am not at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last. There is still waiting for you. So you must not idly stand; Do it now, while life remaineth- You shall not rest in Gods own land. When all work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!
