Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET EMILY MENZIES (nee SEAL) Peacefully, on April 6, 2000 at Extendicare Oakview, Emily Menzies passed away at the age of 81 years after a lengthy battle with cancer. Emily was born in Coventry, England in 1918. She and her family immigrated to Canada in 1928, settling in Vogar, Manitoba. She married Philip Menzies in 1942, eventually moving to Winnipeg in 1951. Emily enjoyed knitting and crocheting before her eyesight failed her. She was an independent soul, she liked nothing better than going out and about in her car shopping and doing errands. Another of her chief pleasures was shrimp dinner at Red Lobster and Great World. Emily also loved animals, especially her dogs, and missed them sorely when she was no longer able to have them. Emily was predeceased by her husband Philip, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter Margaret, nephews; Donald (Sandra) Seal of Selkirk, MB, Douglas (Susan) Seal of Langley, BC, David (Joan) Seal of Mission, BC, Alan (Sharon) Seal of Cobble Hill, BC, sister-in-law Jean Seal as well as other relatives and friends. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Extendicare Oakview for their care of, and kindness to Emily. Special thanks to Donald and Sandra Seal, Jean Seal, Millie Jempson, Richard McKenzie, and the Irish Club for their kindness, help and support at this difficult time. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, entrance on Aubrey Street. A celebration of Emilys life will take place directly afterwards on the 2nd floor of the Irish Club, 654 Erin Street. Elevator service will be available for those who require it. Parking at Piston Rings lot (directly across from the club), as well as on Erin Street. Emilys ashes will be interred at Vogar Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Emilys memory may be made to Quagga Stray-Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 552, Wpg., R3C 2J3, The Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Wpg., R2L 1X3, or to a charity of your choice. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
