OSCAR ROSARIO DESROCHERS December 14, 1922 - April 10, 2000 Peacefully on Monday, April 10, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital, Oscar Desrochers, dearly beloved husband of Rose Desrochers (nee Chicoine) passed away at the age of 77 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Julie and Alfred; sister Annette and brother Richard. Oscar leaves to mourn his wife Rose; children, Wilf, Claudette (Rod) Fritz, Lucille (Brad) Wall, Marc (Val) and Denise (Dennis) Friesen; grandchildren, Adam, Ashlee, Jamie, Sherrie, Janelle, Katrina, Vanessa, Trevor, Brian and Danielle; sisters, Irene Mortier, Roma (Roland) Laurence, Della Cormier and Lucy (Matt) Gregorchuk and sister-in-law Frances Desrochers. Oscar was born and raised in Mariapolis. He moved to Winnipeg in 1950 where he met and married his wife Rose. They were married for 48 years. He was a truck driver for Labatts Brewery until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren, hockey, baseball, travelling, playing cards and pool. Prayers will be held at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. on Thursday, April 13 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be celebrated by Fr. Marcel Toupin at St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, 1007 St. Marys Rd. on Friday, April 14 at 1:00 p.m. Service will terminate at the church. Cremation to follow. The family would like to thank the staff on 6A Medicine at St. Boniface Hospital for the very special care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Oscars memory to a charity of ones choice.
