C.R. was born in Winnipeg; as a youth lived and was educated in East Kildonan, graduated from Health Sciences Centre as an X-ray technologist, and ended his formal education by graduating from dentistry at the University of Manitoba. He served his community in Kenora as a young married man by belonging and working with the Knights of Columbus Notre Dame parish and with the service group Jaycees. His love of the outdoors found him many a weekend hunting or fishing with his buddies and son. Photographing nature, gardening, gourmet cooking, golfing and curling were his avocations, but above all his consummate passion was his dentistry and his desire to carry out every aspect of it, with perfection. C.R. was predeceased by his dad Albert in 1999; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his two uncles and aunts. His memory will be cherished by his wife Lynda; daughters, Melissa and Mark Ignacz of Georgetown, Grand Caymans, Marni, Chad and granddaughter Camryn Wolstenholme of Prince Rupert, B.C., Marcia and friend Enzo Bevaqua of Burnaby, B.C.; and son Matt of Winnipeg. He is also survived by his loving mother Anne, sister Laurayne and husband Ron Rusak, and auntie Lovine Masek of Winnipeg, uncle Marcelle and auntie Marina DeRyckere of Ottawa and extended Daptil family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15 at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier, with Br. Greg Mulligan, O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dr. Andy Gauthier, Matt DeRyckere, Dr. Sid Fleisher, Lawrence Morris, Ron Rusak and Bob Daptil.
