JOHN HENRY MOBSBEY May, 1921 - April, 2000 Passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre with his family at his side after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Irene and Olive and brother Les. He is survived by his beloved wife Frances of 41 years; his children, Kent and Jeannie; grandchildren, Amber and Bentley; great-grandchildren, Rayne and Damien, who all loved him. Also survived by his sister Sadie and many nieces and nephews. Henry started as a radio technician in the R.C.A.F. at the age of 21. He then joined the Merchant Marines as an engineer for 21 years which took him around the world four times. Due to his fathers illness he was called back home to Winnipeg where he began a 30 year career with the C.P.R. During that time he became involved in the Insurance industry where he eventually established his own agency - Mobsbey Insurance. Due to ill health he sold his business. Henry belonged to the Masonic Lodge for over 40 years. A private family funeral will be held. Cremation has taken place and upon request his ashes will be spread at his beloved cottage. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Riverview Health Centre would be greatly appreciated. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff of the 3rd floor east for their compassionate and loving care. "Rest in peace, we all love you Dad" In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay You faced your task with courage Your spirit did not bend But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired He knew you were in pain. He knew the road was getting tough And the hills were hard to climb So He put His arms around you And whispered come unto Me Dear Lord hold him in Your tender care Comfort him for all he suffered And love him until I get there And when we reach that garden Where we are all free from pain We will clasp his hand in a better land Never to part again. Everlasting love, your wife Frances NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
