SUSAN DOBKA (nee LAMANES) On April 10, 2000, surrounded by her family, Susan Dobka passed away at the age of 83 years. Susan was born on the family farm in Esterhazy, SK on December 2, 1916. She was one of 12 children. She met and married John Dobka in 1936. They had two children, Stanley and Rose. They moved to Winnipeg in 1952. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1971; four sisters, Mary, Annie, Elizabeth and Frances; three brothers, John, Joe and Bob. Susan is survived by her two devoted children, Stanley Dobka and Rose Barteski of Winnipeg; also brothers, George and Mike of B.C.; sisters, Agnes of BC and Florence of SK. Susan was a faithful servant of Jehovah God and was a proud and active witness since 1974. She was especially appreciative of The Earthly Paradise mentioned in Revelation 21:3,4 and The Hope of the Resurrection (John 5: 28 and 29). Susan will always be remembered for her kind heartedness, positive outlook and genuine love toward her family. Throughout her lifetime, Susan reached out to many people young and old, effortlessly making friends along the way, bearing Witness to her faith in Jehovah. She also spent a great deal of her spare time with her best friend and companion, Kitty. To forever remember her and cherish the wonderful memories, son Stanley (Helen) Dobka and grandchildren, Lori (Carl), Terri, and Sherri (Roger) great-grandchildren, Danielle, Crystal, Carlie and Jake; daughter Rose (John) Barteski and grandchildren, Todd (Debra), Donna (Randy) and Shelley; great-grandchildren, Kaylen, Jayden and Tyson. Viewing will be on Friday, April 14 at 12:00 noon at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 937 Gateway Rd. The family would like to extend special thanks to all staff at Concordia Hospital, and all Home Care attendants who compassionately cared for our mother.
