ANNA BIRG GATSCHUFF Peacefully on Friday, April 14, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital Anna B. Gatschuff passed away at the age of 92. Anna was predeceased by her loving husband John W. Gatschuff in 1963. Surviving are her children, Johnnie (Ann), Anna Marie (Paul) Weitzel; grandchildren, John (Donna), Rick (Karen), Sandi (Tom), Byron, Kelly; and 11 great-grandchildren. Anna was born in Richardson, South Dakota in 1907. She left rural Saskatchewan, joining John in Winnipeg in 1931. Together, they founded and built Canadian Tool & Die Works in 1949 on Fleet Street in Fort Garry. It outgrew its humble beginnings, moving to Chevrier Boulevard, fulfilling their lifelong dream. A dedicated companion, wife, mother, and friend, Anna was an Eagle, a bowler in two leagues, German Club/Saratoga, and an avid fisher"man", anticipating time at Betula Lake. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1501 Waverley St. Interment to follow in the Waverley Memorial Gardens. Heartfelt thanks extended to Drs. Bertsch, Alvi, Taylor and hospital staff of 3N/E for their caring and kindness.
