EDITH MARGARET MILLER Peacefully, on April 9, 2000 at the Grace General Hospital, Edith Miller passed away at the age of 86 years. Edith was born January 10, 1914 at Manitou, MB, the only child of Harold and Eleanor Miller. Edith was predeceased by her parents and close relatives; she was the last member of her family. She is survived only by distant cousins in Ontario and Quebec. Edith received her education in Manitou, including Normal School. After upgrading her education through university extra-curricular classes, she later obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba. After teaching in rural schools for a few years, she left the teaching profession, and during the Second World War, was employed by the Selective Service in the Unemployment Insurance Branch. Returning to teaching after the war, she joined the Winnipeg School Division No. 1 in 1949. She taught elementary grades in George V and Sargent Park Schools until 1966, when she became a Resource Teacher at Isaac Brock School, retiring in 1974. Cremation has taken place.
