ELIZABETH (ELLEN) SABADASH (nee KOROPATWA) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Sabadash after a short, but courageous battle with cancer, on April 13, 2000 at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 50 years, Peter; her children, Patricia (Allan) Rogocki, grandchildren, Daniel and Tamara and pet dog Keido; Joan (Adam) Wosminity, grandchildren, Jason, Todd and Jennifer of Kamsack, Sask. Ellen also leaves to mourn her sister Anne Ostopowich of Yorkton, Sask. and brother Peter (Minnie) Koropatwa of Perkinsfield, Ont.; sister-in-law Olga Koropatwa of Yorkton, and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ellen was predeceased by both parents, Theodore and Magdalena and by her brother Steve. Our family could not have asked for a better wife, mother, teacher and Baba. Ellen devoted her life to taking care of her family, especially her daughter Patricia. Ellen was first and foremost a friend and she touched all the lives of every one that knew her. Ellen was born in Insinger, SK on July 26, 1921. She married Peter on January 14, 1950 and had 50 wonderful years together. Ellen met Peter in 1948 while working at Ray O Vac Battery Company. They fell in love and in two years married; one year later Patricia Joy was born. Ellen enjoyed cooking for friends and family and was famous for her Ukrainian dishes. Her favourite pastime was bingo and playing cards with friends and family. The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nursing staff in the I.C. unit at the Concordia Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion in Ellens final days. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17 at 2:30 p.m. from Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Green Acres Lane. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9.
