Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMIL KAPRAWY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather peacefully with family at his side at the Riverview Health Centre on April 13, 2000, after his battle with cancer. Emil was born on April 24, 1912 at Bjarmi, Arborg, son of Ignace and Olenea Kaprawy. He was predeceased by both parents; brothers, Tony, Steve and Harry. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Lil of 50 years; children, Ken, Sandra (Wally), Sharon (Phil), Dennis (Buffy), Hilda (Larry) ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Olga and Elizabeth (Sam) brothers, Joe (Mary), Jerry (Toby) nieces and nephews, many relatives and close friends. Emil served in the Armed Forces overseas in the Second World War from June, 1940 - February, 1946, and received five medals. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 161, Arborg, MB. After the war, Emil worked at a Sugar Refinery Co. in Vancouver and then returned to the family farm where he was the happiest. Also, with his wife, they owned and operated restaurants in Keewatin, ON, Lac Du Bonnet, and hotels in Oak River, Mb and Pine Falls, the Shamrock, but he never lost his love for the farm, and in summertime that was where he was. He enjoyed being outdoors and hunting. A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Marr at Riverview Medical Centre and the wonderful staff of nurses where they often went beyond the call of duty. Also thank you to Dr. H. Unruh, Dr. S. Lee, and his Home Care staff. He will be greatly missed by all. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Christian Fellowship Church in Arborg. The Canadian Legion Honor Guard will be in attendance. Private family interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Winnipeg. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
