KATHLEEN LUINING 1903 - 2000 On Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at Selkirk General Hospital, Mom passed away at the age of 96. Mom is survived by her son Russell (Azinta) grandchildren, Tanis, Joanne and Fred; daughter Alice Warren (Ken) grandchildren, Linda, Roy, Beverly and Wayne; daughter-in-law Doreen Luining; grandchildren, Reg, Brenda and Wendy; daughter-in-law Betty Luining and grandchild Gail; also left to cherish her memory are eight great-grandchildren. Mom was predeceased by her husband Fred, 1990; son Robert, 1979, son Cecil, 1998 and grandson Rick, 1995. As a very young child, Kathleen, with her family, immigrated from the Ukraine in 1906 and settled in the Arborg district. When working at the Tache residence at the Agricultural College of Manitoba she met Frederick who had recently immigrated from Holland and who was working with Dairy Science Department. Over the years Mom worked with Dad in the dairy processing industry with such firms as Sundale Creamery and Canada Safeway Limited. In 1949 along with Dad the family purchased and started Lakeland Dairies Limited in Selkirk, Man. (1949 - 1989). Mom enjoyed and cherished her cottage at Gull Lake, Man. Over the years many friends and acquaintances partook of her openness and hospitality. Kathleen was a very caring person who impacted many people with her sense of humour and her interest in other peoples lives. Mom was actively involved as a member of Calvary Temple in Winnipeg and then as a member with Bethel Chapel in Selkirk, Man. Moms faith and her belief in her saviour Jesus Christ was the strength and joy of her life. The family sincerely appreciates the personal care and concern that was given to her by the nursing staff at Bethel Home, Selkirk, Man. Viewing will be held at the Bethel Chapel, 200 Main St., Selkirk, Man., Sunday, April 16 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service is on April 17, Monday at 1:30 p.m. also at the chapel. Officiating are Pastors, Robert Bedard and Ron Hagglund. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Guideons of Canada, P.O. Box 3619, 501 Imperial Road North, Guelph, Ont. may be made if desired for the purchase of scriptures in Kathleens honour. Fontaine Funeral Services in care of arrangements. Ph. 229-3675
