ROSE ELLEN WESTON Peacefully on Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the Victoria General Hospital, Rose Weston passed away at age 86. Predeceased by her husband Tommy, April 27, 1996, Rose is again at his side, a place she has missed so dearly. A devoted and loving Mom, Gran and Great-Gran, her memory will be forever cherished by her children, Gary Weston (Anne) and Maureen Spiers (Bob). Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jason Weston and Nicole and their little girl Tatum of Moosejaw, Sask., Chris Weston, attending the U. of M. in Winnipeg, Debbie Dillabough (Spiers), her husband Jason and their little girl Riley, Tom Spiers and his fiance Kate Atkinson, Matthew, Andrea and Carly (Spiers). Roses memory will also be cherished by her sister Winnifred Jacobson (Clarence) of Spokane, Wash.; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Phyllis Weston, Keith and Joyce MacRae of Winnipeg and her nieces and nephews. Roses longtime neighbours and Sewing Club members were also a very important part of her life. She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Walter and her sister Beth Woods and her husband Art. Rose was very active in the Greater Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association and served as secretary to the Registrar for most of the 1960s. She enjoyed most sports but especially enjoyed a leisurely round of golf with her partner, Tommy. Rose took great pride in helping those less fortunate through a variety of organizations including Meals on Wheels. We thank the medical staff of the Victoria General Hospital Emergency Department and 3rd floor for their tender care and devotion. Cremation has taken place. An interment service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, April 17, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. Those attending are asked to gather at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 12:15 p.m. before proceeding to the gravesite. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8, or the Victoria General Hospital Foundation, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, Man., R3T 2E8.
